Abstract:
What would a community of Christians be like who truly believed and trusted in the words of Christ, "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me anything in my name and I will do it." (John 14:12-14)

Christ taught the Good News to thousands, fed them with five loaves and fishes, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, drove out demons and brought the dead back to life. What would a community of Christians be like who truly believed and trusted in the words of Christ and did these things, yes and even greater things? In today's world, how would this be possible?

This story begins as Dave Kasten arrives at a Village community founded by George and Rachel Evans. What he witnesses in the Village shocks and amazes him even more than his experiences at Search International ten years earlier.

This community of Christians live and work in a unique setting which, along with its micro-economy, facilitates their desire to focus on the Kingdom of God as Christ taught. The outside world believes the Village community is a secretive, even evil commune-cult. Kasten has been asked by Evans to change that image.

Kasten spends a fast-paced week at the Village, gets to know many Villagers and helps to resolve a mysterious death that had occured several years earlier during the formation and construction of the Village. He includes in his published report an outline he received from George Evans which provides guidance as to how to create such a community and Village.
